Why am I asked to verify my identity?

Updated over 5 months ago

The Trust & Safety of the Peerspace Community is of utmost importance. Our Trust & Safety team continually monitors bookings that are happening on our platform, and will request identity verification in some instances to allow bookings to proceed. The identity verification process is used to ensure our users are of legal age to transact on our platform, and because we cannot meet users in person and validate traceable means to get in touch should an incident occur, we use government identification validation to do so.

We are currently in the process of building identity verification into the booking experience, and are continually working to roll out identity verification more broadly across the platform. This process will take some time, and in the meantime you may receive emails requiring identity verification in order for Peerspace to honor a previously confirmed booking.

Please note: failure to complete identity verification as required may result in a cancellation of your booking.
